Welcome to the start of the 2009 season! We are now in the process of sorting out gear, organising teams and processing registrations.
Team Lists Division 1 and Division 2 Teams The trials went very well and the team lists are nearly complete. The finalised lists for these two categories are now available on our website home page at www.cashmerefootball.co.nz .
Thank you to all who trialled, some of the selections were very difficult and even if you did not make the team you wanted be assured that there will be other opportunities as time goes on. Those who were unsuccessful or did not trial will be placed in another team and contacted by the coach in due course.
10th Grade, 7 – 9th Grade and Starters Teams These are being compiled at present and we hope to have the final lists available for posting on the website by Sunday 5th April.
Please bear with us during this busy time. If you have concerns about team selections please contact Fred Simpson by email or the Junior Secretary email . We do try to accommodate your requests wherever possible but we can’t guarantee that everyone will get their first choice.
Season Start Dates 10th Grade and above Sunday 26th April. Note the Sunday start date – this is necessary to fit around Easter and school holidays.
7 – 9th Grade and Starters (Midgets) Saturday 2nd May
Getting Involved in the Club Once again we are calling for volunteers to help with some pre-season activities. Saturday 4th April – we need people with spades, post hole diggers (and muscles) to help put up the Junior goal posts. Meet at Centennial Park at 9am. Sunday 5th April – we need people to help with sorting out the gear into teams. Meet at the Cashmere Club at 9am
If you are able to put aside some time on either of these 2 days your help would be much appreciated.
Holiday Programme We will be running football programmes at the Action Indoor Sports facility in Iverson Terrace over the April holidays. The first week is aimed at our younger ‘in house’ members and the second at those playing in the Mainland grades, all details including registration forms are on our website now www.cashmerefootball.co.nz .
Recognition for Our Top Girls ! Kate Inwood and Millie Gribben have been selected to play for our Federation in a National Identification Tournament this April. Well done to you both and “Good Luck” from all at the club. Our girls really can do anything – next stop the Football Ferns.
Registration Reminder Just a reminder to those who haven’t yet registered that the $30 discount is only available until 10 April so make sure you get your registrations in before that date to qualify. All players must be registered in order to play for the Club. To register please click the Join link on our website home page.
