Hi to All Members,
Its great that the season has commenced without any interruptions for bad weather. Recent rain however has made the grounds a little easy so we have no doubt you have experienced the first Saturday with mud in your car!
This is a good time to remember to make sure you dry keepers gloves and jerseys after each game.
Thank You A huge THANKS to all those assisted with our working bee to put the goal posts up for this season. It was a fantastic turn out and your help was most appreciated.
Team Photos Photos for this season will be taken on Monday 21st June and Tuesday 22nd June at the Cashmere Club. A newsletter will be out early June to advise you of your teams date and time so watch out for this.
Coaches could you please check the website www.cashmerefootball.co.nz for updated team lists, should there be any corrections to your team please email these to Caroline Mason by email
Holiday Programme This popular programme will again be running for the two weeks of the July school holidays.
Dates and times to be advised in the June newsletter.
10th Grade & Above There have been some great results across all grades and overall Cashmere teams seem to be doing quite well. The most important thing is that everyone seems to be enjoying themselves.
Coaches and Managers, please remember to check your emails on Friday evening for the schedule as to who is setting out nets and posts for this weeks games, it is important that they are all returned to the correct pavilion to ensure that they are ready for the following week. If you have someone filling in please advise them of this procedure.
Ground or game changes can happen without notice so dont forget to check 'This Week's Snapshot' on the righthand side - changes will be marked in red). This is found on the home page of Mainland's website www.mainlandfootball.co.nz to confirm each weeks games.
In House Competition Midgets & Grades 7, 8 and 9 The 2010 season has got off to a great start with enthusiastic coaches and parents. Thank you to all coaches and parents who are assisting with practices, communication and getting players to the ground on match day! All In house teams are now full.
There are 12 Midget teams which is terrific. The new coaches and players are doing a fine job and we are receiving great feedback from the parents about the coaching. Given that there are up to 15 players in each Midgets team, parental help is vital and we have been delighted with the willingness of parents to get stuck in. Keep it up!
In Grade 7 there are 8 teams with the late addition of Team Petrel meaning that there is no bye for this grade.
The 8th Grade has a whopping 16 teams. In due course, the Grade may split into two leagues as the season progresses to keep games competitive and fair.
The 9th grade has 7 teams and so there will have a bye for one side each week.
Any lost property should be left at seats at the Pavilion and we will collect it if it has not been claimed.
We have problem with cone displacement! The cones which are used to mark out the Midgets playing area are being collected by well-meaning helpers. We need them to remain in place all morning as some teams do not start until 11.00am. Just leave them where they are (they are bigger than the cones allocated to each team) and we will collect them at the end of the morning.
If Centennial Park is closed or the weather forecast is not looking good then we may move the in house competition indoors to Action Indoor sports centre located on Iverson Terrace.
Notification of this change will be made on a Friday and posted on our website along with the indoors draw that evening.
Training Grounds If you are finding difficulty in obtaining space for training purposes please contact Fred Simpson by email to discuss alternative options.
